About  All Things

Formerly Carolina Poodle

We are a small hobby breeder located in Haines, AK. We own two Standard Poodles, a male and a female, who live in our home. We aim to bring you puppies that are well adjusted and healthy family companions. Our heart lies with providing dogs for the average family...  Dogs that can hike, swim, hunt, run, or just relax with your children.

A bit about us...

I remember answering the "What are you going to do when you grow up?" question with "I want to be a dog breeder!" Years later, after a bachelor’s degree in biology and a master’s in public health, it seems I have revisited my dream.  I am a stay at home mom of four beautiful children. I fill my spare time with our dogs.  I am trained in animal behavior, genetics, and reproductive biology, all of which I use in our breeding program. I am passionate about producing genetically sound animals and would never sacrifice quality.

My husband is a business owner who brings home the bacon, so to speak. He graciously provides for our family giving me the opportunity to look after our kids instead of punching a clock. We have lived in AK for 7 years now. We are a Christian family doing our best to live as God intended. We strive to live upright lives serving Jesus.
What does your name mean? All Things!?
The amount of times the words "all things" occurs in the Bible is vast.
Our Lord and God, you are worthy to receive glory and honor and power, because you have created all things, and by your will they exist and were created.
Revelation 4:11
We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28
Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."
Matthew 19:26
"But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and remind you of everything I have told you."
John14:26
There are many, many more examples in scripture. Every time I hear it, it reminds me how big God is and how precious all things are to him.

A note about the "Poodle Cut"

When I first wanted to get a Standard Poodle (in 2010) my husband sternly objected. After my beloved German Shepherd/Shar Pei mix, I vowed never to have a dog that shed again. But, my husband wouldn't be caught dead walking a Poodle... I started to research Poodles on the internet. I searched everywhere for photos of Poodles that looked like dogs and not circus animals. I am embarrassed to admit I was unsure if Poodles could even grow long hair on their faces (they can... their hair grows evenly everywhere). I was hard-pressed to find photos of Poodles not donning silly haircuts.  After convincing my husband we really didn't have to have a Poodle with pompoms... we took the plunge and bought our Roni. We couldn't be happier with our purchase.  After several interesting haircuts, we found a couple we enjoy. We clip our dogs often in the summer, keeping their hair short. In the winter we generally let it grow out a little longer. When our poodles are in their winter cut everyone is convinced they are a doodle mix of some sort. (We always get compliments on how beautiful our doodles are!) I have to admit, after more than a decade of owning poodles, the poodle cut has sort of grown on me... but not my husband. Whatever cut you decide to give your pup, rest assured there is no law saying a Poodle must have pompoms!
